TRANSITION TENNESSEE

Hey group,

Lets use this thread to post when we are available to sit and talk face to face. As we are a state wide group I understand we can not all be there. I think it is important for us to spend time in person if possible.

It will serve two purposes, (1) if you are not personally acquainted with the other members it gives you a chance to become so * we can plan day trips for other areas of the state* (2) It will give us a chance to socialize brainstorm.

feedback?

I'm game. My availability is flexible. If I had to pick a particular evening, I'd say Thursdays or Fridays, and an earlier hour is best.

I am interested in discussions/meetings. My schedule is pretty flexible, as long as it is a half hour or so from Cleveland for weeknights.

I just found this site today. Interested in community gardens in Chattanooga, recycling computers, supporting local business.
Wondering how I can get a beekeeper to move into my neighborhood.
You realize Golden Gallon started as a way to support local dairies.
Do we have local dairies still? How can we bring passenger rail back to Chattanooga?
Does the rush to develop the river front threaten future use of the river for shipping in a post oil world?

Hi, This all sounds great. Would you be willing to also repost this post to a new thread of its own and start some discussion about your questions? (just hit "add discussion" button, I think).

I would love it if we could start talking about some of these things. These are good questions.

I hope to continue to add a little spice to my life with some traveling adventures. I will be sure to check in if/when I am in the area. In the meantime, if anyone is coming to or through Nashville, please contact me.

Perhaps we can arrange to have some kind of statewide gathering/meeting, and have meet and greet, some seminars and/or classes, and food :-) If we can't come up with presentations ourselves early on, perhaps videos can be shown, or someone from another Transition group may be willing to give a presentation.

I would certainly be willing to come forsomething like that, and try to be useful in whatever way I can. (preparation, food, clean-up, harp music, general labor) Since most of the members seem to be in the Chattanooga area, it might make sense to do it there somewhere.

Now that the holiday hoopla is over for this year, is anyone interested in planning a get together. soon. Let me know about dates and times that you all would be interested in. I know that we can't please everyone but we can try to get the greatest number of us together as possible. I love the internet, but there is nothing like face to face contact. Let me know what you think.

Holidays are over... who wants to meet? And should our first meeting be simply a meet-n-greet thing with some general brainstorming, or would you like to create a specific topic?

I'd be curious to learn who is interested in what. As in, what are your skills, your interests and the areas where you're most inspired to research, learn, implement and educate others. We all have different areas of focus and different pursuits that we enjoy. Knowing where our strengths lie can help us as a group and in reaching out to educate and inspire others about changes they can make.

How would an upcoming Friday evening (in Chattanooga) be for you all?

Friday would be good for me except jan 15th(evening shift)Let me know where and when and what I can do to help. A meet-n-greet and general discussion would be great. We could all learn more about each other and figure ou t what the next steps we need to take.
